Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB)
Ohio licenses commercial contractors at the state level through OCILB. General contractors and most residential licensing remain local.

Reciprocity / Exam Waivers
OCILB offers limited reciprocity or exam waivers for select commercial trade licenses when another state’s standards are substantially equivalent. However, applicants must still meet Ohio’s application, insurance, and background requirements. Check current guidance before applying.
